The year before last as an experiment, I tried to whip and tongue graft a Meyer lemon onto a very old (no name) lemon with prickles. It didn't take and the root stock grew back better than before.
I will try again this year but perhaps this time do some top working grafts and perhaps because I don't actually need another lemon, I will try grafting an easy peel mandarin onto it - interesting to have a go at something I have never done before successfully. I will keep trying.
We propagate all our vegetables with the exception of root crops. These are direct sown. Our propagation is either careful sowing of seed in a matrix form, or scatter sow with pricking out.
