When we analyze a site, we first look at that location from larger patterns and then to the details, beginning from a zoomed out perspective to see how macro forces influence the site. We then zoom in to observe the site’s unique characteristics.
This forms the basis of developing a good understanding of a site as the basis for establishing a functional and regenerative permaculture design.
In this module we explore the climate, soil, market factors and client requirements as a foundation for selection of the most appropriate species to be incorporated into our permaculture production systems.
Design Task: Site Analysis
